Description: This 1979 mono LP from Commodore Records (XFL 14939) is partially reprocessed from the original mono recordings, but it also includes alternate versions of each track never issued on 78s. It features performances by "Wild Bill" Davison (trumpet) and His Commodores, including Pee Wee Russell (clarinet), George Brunis (trombone), Eddie Condon (guitar), Gene Schroeder (piano), Bob Casey (string bass) and George Wettling (drums). Edmond Hall (clarinet) replaces Pee Wee Russell on some tracks. Album notes are by Milt Gabler. The album includes a disclaimer about background surface noise audible from the original source recordings. The disc shows a number of light needle scratches on both sides, but has been played through in its entirety on a Thorens SD 126 Mk III turntable and did not show any noticeable problems. This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear. NOTES:Album sleeves may have a small index sticker, usually in the upper right corner of the back, which was applied when the album was first purchased for this private collection. Please be sure you know the Shipping charge to your address before bidding.
