Description: Rare original Vintage red glaze that was so popular with Fiestaware it was used on other pottery lines produced by Homer Laughlin in Newell, W.V. This particular line was called Riviera and is known for it's scalloped edges and pretty scalloped handles. The red really looks more orange...they could never figure out why it was called Fiesta Red. This color was produced from 1938-1942 as the red glaze contained uranium oxide and they had to discontinue due to radiation properties.
