Description: Classic image of John Wayne's character Rooster Cogburn from the timeless movie "True Grit". This image is burned onto a piece of American elm and finished with table top epoxy resin. It is just over 17" tall and 16" wide. Comes ready to hang and is a one of a kind piece as even if I recreate the same image, no two pieces come out exactly the same. I do all my burning using nothing but sunlight and a magnifying glass. This piece took roughly 10 hours to burn and that's not including sketching or epoxy work. The edges of the wood have some amazing lines and trenches carved in them from the beetle larvae that lived under the bark when the tree was alive.
