Description: This listing is for a Winston Alpha + 5wt fly rod with a fighting butt. This rod is in excellent shape and the grip shows almost no signs of use. The rod tube and sack have a fair amount of wear so please see pictures for details. Also, the rod tube cap lists this as having a the maple reel seat but this is the fighting butt version. Signature will be required because of value. This rod is designed to a faster/more powerful rod for aggressive lines. That being said, I found this rod to still be very "Winston Like". This rod is definitely going to be faster when compared to classic Winston trout rods but I didn't feel like it was anything like a loomis or sage. It bends more into the mid section and butt section than other rods in this category.
