Description: Phantom of the Opera 55pc Set Dummy Costume Musical Prop Costume Broadway. 55+ piece collection relating to D12 "Victorian Negro" mannequin. In the "Masquerade" production number, there are several "dummies" (as the people who worked on the show called them) positioned on the Grand Staircase. The shop did various work on all of them. Every performance, as "Masquerade" concluded, the dummies were flown out of the way for the next scene. As they were flying, they would catch on or bump into things and become damaged and/or dirty. The shop members would periodically go to NYC to do dummy repairs/touch ups. This is a collection of items relating to the "D12 Victorian Negro" mannequin. These items were used for the Broadway production and also at least two touring companies. In the program photos, Black Man can be seen on the staircase mid-way up on the left . See photos. Includes: -Color copies of original London costume renderings. -Copies of London photos of ballet dancer posing for mannequin reference. -Photos taken during construction in our shop. Various iterations. -Photos taken during a dummy repair call in the lobby of the Majestic Theatre. -Pattern and 2 fabrics used for skirt/diaper. -Paper pattern for belt. -Pattern and fabric used for chest medallions. -3 different style glass bead fringes used in different interations of skirt. -Black chainette fringe trim used on skirt. -17 pieces, 5 different molds, some painted, some not painted, of "feathers" used on all headdresses and collars after the Broadway production. Kydex covered with gold Mylar. These "feathers" replaced the original ones which were not very durable. -One damaged feather that was removed and replaced. The original maker guarantees this to be the genuine article. Signed Certificate of Authenticity included. See photos.
