HO Scale PROTO 2000 GP30 DCC Ready Locomotive SSW COTTON BELT #5009 new in box

Description: HO Scale PROTO 2000 ITEM# 23088 GP30 Phase II DCC Ready Powered Diesel Locomotive with Dynamic Brakes. ( SSW ) Cotton Belt Road# 5009 DCC Ready means right now this is a DC engine but with a simple DCC decoder that you can buy here on eBay for $20 you can turn this engine into a full DCC engine, or upgrade to a DCC with sound decoder. Please keep in mind that this is a brand new and never used engine. If I was a gambling man I would bet that the plastic axle gears have cracked over the years and that is a common flaw with WALTHERS/PROTO & ATHEARN engines of this era. It is a very easy fix and will require 4 new axle gears that are sold aftermarket here on eBay using part number ATHG19254 for a complete axle and truck set or A-Line 40005 that you would need to press in. Brand new and never removed from box. Bought it brand new in the early 2000's from Scale Model Train's in St. Paul MN. Pictures are taken on my personal home layout to show that im not a dealer (just another train fanatic like yourself) and I assure you that your getting a good product because I TEST THEM for you.
