Description: This is one of the showy Civil War period designs that kept American flint glass in the forefront of the glass business. Usually called Tulip & Sawtooth, though also referred to as simply the Tulip pattern, this design is an excellent example of both details and broad areas of pure shinny glass. This is one of two footed salt patterns, and I think It is the best. The Star pattern on the under of the foot adds to the sparkle of the piece. Made by the Bryce Bros. Glass Factory in Pittsburgh, PA., it dates to the mid-1860s. Excellent condition The glass has the ring of flint glass 3” H 2.3” Diameter at base 2.6” Diameter at rim
