Description: Own a little piece of Hollywood history with this exceptional 1940s Thief of Baghdad festoon necklace designed by Alexander Korda and manufactured by Rice-Weiner. The high quality craftsmanship and ornate design are immediately evident and reminiscent of Byzantine jewelry. Two brass chains anchor this necklace which features three tiered drops. The first drop is decorated with a flower design using enameled brass and creamy faux pearls. The wide middle section is an intricately worked design of brass, multicolored stones and faux pearls. Two small teardrops with red stones hang from this section, flanking the bottom pendant. Please note: part of a green stone is missing in this center section. There is also a small area with verdigris in this section. The bottom tier features a single teardrop-shaped pendant with more enameling, stones and artificial cream-colored pearls. Clasp at the top is the push-in variety. A rare & wonderful addition to your collection or for wearing to any special event. Necklace measures approximately 15 inches long and is 3 1/4 inches across at its widest point. The length of the drop is approximately 4 3/4 inches.
