Anokhi Indian Cotton Hand-Block Print Black, Red and Cream Dress BNWT Size L-XL

Description: This is a beautiful Hand Block print buttoned dress from Anokhi. Anokhi is an ethical fair-trade company based in Jaipur India and they produce many of the clothes sold by East and Toast for twice the cost. The dress is hand block printed. It has a red and cream/taupe design on a black background. It is button through and comes with a round neckline, ¾ length sleeves, two side slip pockets and a tie waist which can alter the shape of the dress for a more fitted style. There is stitched detail throughout the dress – on the sleeves, back and front of the dress. It is a versatile dress as it can be buttoned up, or open like a jacket and can be worn with leggings, hareem pants or trousers as a tunic. It is made from 100% Indian cotton and hand block printed using plant and mineral dyes, and dabu mud resist. Hand block printing is one of the ancient artisan techniques/crafts. Anokhi are also one of the few producers who continue to use hand mixed vegetable dyes which is the oldest colouring technique. Therefore, the result of the hand printing process is not machine perfect but unique, with slight variations to each item. Please see the attached tag/label for more information (last photo). I bought the dress in India last year, but sadly I have not had the opportunity to wear it. The dress in new - with the tags.
