Description: DESCRIPTION: Saponaria is a beautiful and hardy Aloe that will quickly form new plants from the fleshy runner roots. It should bloom in the second year with good growing conditions. The blooms come several times a year from March through December and rise several feet with delicate, pinkish-orange, dangling, tubular flowers. The blooms last several weeks and are especially attractive after several years when multiple plants bloom at the same time. GROWING CONDITIONS: These plants should be hardy zone 7b-10 and will grow in a wide variety of soils. It will do fine in the hot sun or cold, wet winters. We recommend pot culture (protect in the winter from freezing, zone 7 or below)) or mulching them in zone 8 to prevent freezing of the leaf tips. Plants do best if planted in the ground, but they will make excellent container plants. They seem to be very vigorous and and tolerant of more dry conditions too, unlike many other plants. DESCRIPTION OF ITEM FOR BID: You are bidding on a plant 12+" in diameter that should bloom within one year. It will be dug fresh and shipped bare root. These are heavy and expensive to ship.
