Description: This listing is for a group of 8 early smooth face irons. Included (some of the writing is very hard to read so no guarantee of accuracy) are a Pennell Trade Mark mashie style iron 36 3/4" length 39* loft and B 0 swingweight, a no-name early looking long blade shallow face cleek 39 3/4" 23* B 3, a mashie style club (Auchterlonie marked shaft) 36 3/4" 36* B 7, an early mashie style club 37 1/2" 41* D 0, an Anderson driving iron 38 5/8" 21* C 0, a Forgan St Andrews Taylor (JH) Pattern Mashie 35 3/4" 33* A 8 (shaft marked for both Forgan and Mitchell of Manchester), a rounded back iron 38 1/2" 25* E 7 and an early pipe mark Stewart with no registration below 36 1/2" 39* A 7. Condition varies so please look at the multiple zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. Shafts are old hickories. Some no doubt have play at the hosels. Some of the shafts do have bends but I don't see any cracks. Some of the grips are old and some are newer replacements. These clubs came from the NHC Czar and were being used as NHC loaners. Looks to me like they still need work for play but will display just fine. Shipping in the US is calculated for this item and based on a 10-pound 44x6x6 box. The closer you are to me in NC (27712 zip) the less shipping will be. This is the way the carriers work and unfortunately shipping has become more expensive recently. On top of that, most buyers don't realize that eBay takes almost 15% of what I receive as stated shipping (out of $10 I only receive $8.50). Because of the high value there is a handling fee.
